I need to put a washer/dryer in my closet because I have trouble with steps. Can you tell me the width of this closet. I would not have room for the shelves but love the idea.

Hi Carla, this closet was about 42" wide including shelves. The GE Profile washer dryer is 24 wide about 26 depp and 34" high. We renovated the closet by using space from room behind the closet to give it more depth. Generally, stackable washer dryers are betweeb 24" and 27 wide and about 25-30" deep as well as about 34" high so stacking would make the top about 68" high. There are so many options that could fit your closet but you may sacrifice the size of the washer/dryer combo to make it fit. Check he internet for "stackable washer and dryer combo's". to review which would work the best for you.

My bathroom is small and would not be able to put in the shelves. So my guess is at least having the openiing 30 inches. I will only have room for the washer/dryer combo.
But love the shelves idea. Thanks for the help.

Yes, and make sure of the depth you need before you purchase them. What's on the other side of the wall of that closet? Maybe if it is possible steal some space there. Good luck!

It's just standard adjustable shelving and pegged sides. You can find it anywhere, try Home Depot.

Jamie, read above in previous questions about the dimensions. For this project, there was another closet behind the small linen closet in the bathroom so we used the space from the closet behind. The shelving is only about 18" wide. Call in a contractor and show the photo, it will be no problem for them to duplicate it once they measure what you need. It can be cut to size. Good luck

Karla, thanks for describing the side boards of the linen closet, as pegged sides. We've tried to find that whole board of pegs, like in the photo and no one carried it....or we'd have to make our own. So hubby is on the way to Home Depot to see if they have them. Our linen closet & bathroom I designed as we built an addition on our home. Would you believe our contractor didn't know what a linen closet was? Duh! The closet is 8' H x 3'W.x 3'D..big huh? when finished I'll send a picture of closet. Here is our bathroom. The paint color is SW Mindful Grey. One photo barely shows the closet on the side of shower. The other pocket door near the vanity is our master closet.

I do not see any photos. About the peg board, this can be found in lumber stores or Home Depot or Lowes. 36" x 36" is great for your needs. most stackable washer dryers are about 30 x 30 but there are some that are smaller which is even better.
