Raising Rubbermaid containers.....

Hi all,

I really need to get serious about making gardening more do-able for me. My knees are going fast, and now my wrists and fingers are acting up. I used to (and still do have), a large regular garden. Fortunately, my husband does alot of the grunt work. But a couple years ago, I decided to get some 35 and 50 gallon Rubbermaid containers for the back yard. Mostly I've grown herbs in them, with occasional tomatoes, peppers, and brocolli. But they are still too low. I've been thinking about how to raise them. How would this be: I could get some cement blocks, and put 2x12's over them. Would that be able to hold the weight of those soil-filled rubbermaids? I know I'd probably have to have cement blocks pretty close together. What do you think about this idea? Thanks!
