This is a great time of year to add some yard art to your (exponentially) growing garden. Everything is on sale! So I went by one of my favorite nurseries recently. Who could resist a metal flower that was $65, marked down to a mere $20? Not I.

So I put it in a backyard bed, waiting for DH to say "what did we need that for?" You can't blame the poor man. Not only have I spent plenty on the garden in the last 3 years, I also grow orchids. Sigh.

By the way, the yard art is of the classy variety, a giant metal coneflower of about 12 inches across in flower-appropriate colors. So last weekend he looked out the window, and he says "wow, that flower got so big!"

I laughed my little patooty off.
