I`m in Louisville, KY. zone 6a. I love my Fame!!! I have had her 3 years and she is great.I mound a small amount of chopped leaves at the base of all my roses, that is my winter protection. This rose repeats fast...ruffle blooms do fade in intensity after a few days in hot, direct sun, but the blooms stay nice for a very long time.Just a little faded. I really love these hot blooms and would not be without this rose. Hope this helps. Lesley

I grow it in front of my house in the hottest place I have. It has grown into a big, ever-blooming bush that always looks good. It keeps its color well unless over 95 degrees. I would recommend it if you like this color.

This rose (whatever it turns out to be) will be in a prominent place and will be in full sun. It will not be deadheaded that often during summer so it really needs to retain it's color well. Our temperatures are easily over 95 during high summer. When I thought about this spot I thought maybe Knockout might do the job, but surely there is another deep pink rose that can do the job other then Knockout. I appreciate the information you all have given. Fame is still on my list....Maryl

I have to agree with kathy-I am in central california, san joaquin valley. Very hot here. My Fame grows facing west-color does not fade. Its a good jolt of color too-you gotta love that.

Well--I believe in compulsive deadheading and believe that is why I get so much bloom here. I also don't like the look of faded browning roses. I can't say how Fame would do without deadheading. A much more vigorous grower-bloomer that I love is Cinco de Mayo. It already has lots of new growth by the time I start deadheading. It is amazing.
