Thank you Jill...yes as lucky said it is pansies...no violas. They are really gorgeous this year. I used the water retaining and fertilizer included formula pottng mix and it has convinced me to cont. with it.

In Hueytown we barely got enough the make the ground frosty white. Thank goodness by 2 p.m. it was mostly gone. I just saw news pix of north Shelby county in the Inverness area on Hwy 280, about 2 miles south of I-459 and it was solid white. According to the news, the farther south you go the heavier the snow. Is that a jelly palm in the pix which has been frost bitten?

That is a neighbor's palm.Not sure what kind...looked so pretty with the lights and snow. c

Oh Jan, your gardens are so beautiful. Your brick walkway is what I wanted to do but mine never looked as wonderful as yours. And your rockwall is great. I love the bed under the trees, all the daylilies and the iron bench...everything...you are a master gardener for sure. And the winter photos...so lovely. Thank you for sharing these pictures. c

LOL...you're welcome c, and thank you for all your wonderful compliments...I just do what pops in my mind, and I love gardening..especially daylilies. I grow over 900 registered ones and tons of my own seedlings. I can't wait for spring so I can be outside in my garden again.
