i have been winter sowing for the past two years and i'm about to start again this year. winter sowing is how i have extras to give away at our swaps.

i save all my 2 liter drink bottles throughout the year and use those. most people use milk jugs. its really very simple. the people on the WS forum are very nice also if you have any questions; they can get a little crazy at times though.

Hi Susan, I Winter Sow and have very good luck. The only problem I have is keeping the names on the containers. I now mark the outside and also put a marker inside.

Thanks! I decided to give it a try and sowed Echinops ruthenicus "Platinum blue", Gazania krebsiana "tanager", purple cone flower, Berlandiera lyrata (chocolate flower)and Nasturtiums (burpee jewel mix. I planted half of each packet, just in case. This is a fun thing to do on a cold day.
