Is everybody ready for the storm?

It seems like everyone is on pins and needles for this one. I hope that everyone is ready to be home bound for a day or two...and I HOPE we all get through this without any power outages.

Good luck, my friends.

Hi, Dorie - if being ready = laying up a good supply of beer, then yup, I'm there.

I was up north visiting family for the holidays - the storm that dumped 22 inches in the area west of Boston had people staying home one evening - the next morning, the roads had all been plowed and everyone was on their way. Tonight I saw on the news the governor has declared a state of emergency here, and is asking everyone to stay off the roads - guess I'll sleep in tomorrow!

Well, it's a Doozie...my pets are not happy...praying for no power outages! Think I'll go whip up a batch of cornbread for the birds...ran out of birdseed already.

No real problems here. Haven't seen anybody on the roads except one ATV. DH was not scheduled to work today, so he's snuggled up in his bed. DD had to spend the night at her national guard amory, but I suspect that she will be released later this afternoon. Cornbread for the birdies- what a helpful reminder, and I have a jar of old peanut butter (-:

Well, I can't make cornbread, but I fed the birds with cracker and bread crumbs. It was fun watching them and I got a few good photos. Snow and photography don't get along well together. It's a constant struggle to get everything just right, and the birds don't help a bit by flitting all about.

Now for some football! Roll Tigers Roll!!

And roll they did - what a game! Schools are closed for day 3 up here - roads are, on the whole, getting better, but there are icy patches - parking lots are a mess, I'm told (I'm a chicken, and haven't been out these past 2 days). More black ice expected tomorrow - this northern transplant is not a happy camper! Bring on spring!

The word is that the roads will be worse today (Wednesday) than any other day thus far. Once the sun come out, the roads will begin to warm up but the cold temperatures won't help much, that's for sure.

We are finally in the new house, up on a hill. Not planning on going anywhere, too icy. The temps for Steele are predicted to be: today 30, tonight 12, Thursday 31, Thursday night 11, 40 on Friday, then maybe we can get down & back up the driveway.

The past year we were in building frenzy mode, & we managed to move in by Christmas, barely.

It really hurt not going to plant sales & trades last year, as all time & resources had to go to the new house. Still lots to do, but now we are nice & warm in our new place.
