This summer's heat & drought interrupted the blooms on my sasanqua camellias - some are trying to bloom now when the weather is too cold. The only c. japonica I grow is "Bob Hope", and I have three, (the most absolutely beautiful, true blood-red), and he began setting blooms several weeks ago.

I'm holding out "hope" for him, as be doesn't begin to bloom (for me) until most of the threat of freezing weather is over. He's stunning when in bloom.

My shi-shi really didn't put out as many blooms as I had expected it would. It's done blooming now. Yuletide, planted this spring in the place of that horrible butterfly bush that was shovel pruned... wahaha, has lots of buds. But it seems every time there's a bunch of blooms, the weather gets them.

I do have a Prof Sgt trying to bloom now.
