How many of you are like this?

This "irresistible impulse" causes me to deadhead plants at nurseries, as well as in friends' gardens.

Oh God....how I love cocktail drinking and the pulling of weeds. What else does Heaven have to offer?! I'm definitely booking that trip!

Before I retired, I often found myself on the way into the city hall in the morning in my good suit, bent over weeding the beds around the door. Pulling weeds was a lot more fun than sitting in an office. I've heard it said (obviously by nongardeners) that people plant gardens to relax in, then spend all their time working in them. They just don't understand that weedin' and playin' in the dirt IS relaxing for us.
