what to plant?

I have a small spot by my back door that gets about 4 hours morning sun then shaded by the carport till about 3 in the afternoon. I want something that gets no taller than 18 inches blooms from spring till end of summer and smells great. Now I know with all the folks that we have here someone can think of something that fits the bill. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I can't think of too many shade plants with that long a bloom time. However, there are a number of very colorful coleus that do well in part shade. Check with a local nursery to see what they have. Linda

I think I am going to try heliotrope, everything I have read about it seems to fit the spot. It loves morning sun and likes to be shade during the hottest part of the day so the leaves won't burn then it gets late afternoon sun. Thank for the help.

The heliotrope is a good idea.

I have a spot with the same characteristics, and I'm looking for something similar to put there. The difference is I would prefer a perennial or shrub. It would be okay if it got as tall as 24 inches. Anybody have any ideas?
