Jill, ask Nelson. He had to come up with all kinds of ideas to use water for his plants last summer as Birmingham had restrictions.

You can buy small pumps with a threaded end which will allow you to attach a garden hose. If you can't find one with a threaded end you can buy a "slip-on" attachment (like the PVC fittings), one end is a slip on and the other end female threads then buy a plastic nipple (male threads) which reduces and will slip into a hose (with a plain clean cut end). Use a small screw on hose clamp to secure it. You only need a small pump. You can buy all of these parts at Loew's or Home Depot.
