Nigella, I will also play Enya, praise and worship music, Yanni, oldies from the 50's and 60's, swing, big band, musicals, disco, or in other words just whatever suits my fancy on any given day. I just love good music and guess my plants and the critters around me do too.
As I don't have any neighbors other then my sons and their families I just turn mine up as loud as I want to. I have speakers in the eaves of my house over the pool but usually I just take out my "boombox" and set the CD to repeat and start digging.

Hey Mimi, if you like Enya you may like Mazzy Starr, same kind of gentleness but "darker and smokier". I play her CDs and Enya's out in the garden sometimes. I play a lot of different kinds of music; I've always liked diversity and we used to have an original music club so I was exposed to lots of different types of music through it. There are times when I'm driving or working around the house or on the computer when ska, Irish and Scottish type music(I really love bagpipes!), alternative, heavy metal(I have to admit to liking a tiny bit of that, about enough to fill up a couple of cd's), punk(uhm, did I really say that???), new wave(Yum! Dire Straits and Talking Heads ruled, they were the light at the end of the tunnel for me), reggae, dance(Moby, NIN, Filter, etc), Romance / Angst, well, lots and lots of kinds of music, have more appeal. For out in the garden, working by myself, I find that the natural rhythms and sounds in (what I thought was "world music" but I think they're calling Latin based music "World Music" now) drum circle music help me get "centered". Oh yes, forgot to mention Sting's 'Desert Rose' is another nice number. I'd really love to have more of that kind of music.

Terramadre, PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU GOT THIS MIDI HERE. I sure hope Spike doesn't delete it. I have often thought that a little music sure would help things.

You need your own website or webspace to store your midi's and then link to there with the embed command. I embed music on most of my Mad Hatter's threads at the Garden Party. I won't embed a midi here since TerraMadra already has posted one.

But the code is without the spaces.

Thank you Michael, now... would you please tell me how to make my files into midis? I have a lot better understanding of html than I do of how my computer actually works, lol.

Are your music files in wma, mp3 or some other format? The extentions would be .wma, .mp3 or .something. Depending on the software program, you can convert from one to the other with out too much problem.

But the easiest thing to do is to borrow a midi file from a site that allows you to freely download midis. Like from site if you wanted a Jimmy Buffett midi. Also do the owner a courtesy and not hot link to his/her website and burn up his/her bandwith. I use the webspace that my ISP provides to store the midis and hot link to my site.

The midi files are the only music files that you would want to embed into a post. There are only from around 4 kbs to 100 kbs of memory. A Windows media file is around 10 Megabytes, a size that is way to large to inflict on someone. Even mp3s, though much smaller than a Windows Media file, are of a size that is not easy to download.
