coreopsis auriculata, a spring-blooming perennial. got this one last year from a fellow forum member and local gardener (thanks, larryd).

the site receives a few hours of direct morning sun and bright filtered light thereafter. the leaves are a mound less than a foot high. the clump seems to be expanding at a geometric rate so you might see me on the exchange forum with this soon! *lol*

Is that a native Coreopsis? We have some species of Coreopsis that's all over the place along roadsides and woods' edges in my area. I really like them. Sometime I need to head out with my camera and snap some photos of the wildflowers in the area - there are a lot that are really nice. I think my favorite species blooming now is the Fire Pinks (Silene virginica).

yes, it is native. also called lobed tickseed or mouse-eared coreopsis. there are some pretty roadsides around here now with blooming wildflowers.
i don't grow fire pink but wouldn't mind having some.
