Want advice: Design/Placement in Flower Bed

I have an island in my yard...not by my design but because my husband tilled up a large area around a sewer lid. I have little ones and didn't have the energy or desire to fix his "solution" to an uneven/problem area in our FRONT yard. Last fall...temporarily...I placed some tan pavers around the sewer lid to keep out dirt and hide the lid. I placed a bird bath on top as an off-center design piece...really just to take ones eye away from the lid/paver area. I mulched it and planted a few plants without putting down landscape fabric! Uggh!

Now, I removed all the old mulch and put down landscape fabric and mulched with new cypress mulch. I have purchased a huge variety of plants...there was a big sale. I had wanted to really plot and plan what was going to go in...especially since I mostly need to use annuals...we will be moving within a year or so....but my compulsive shopping got the better of me....

Long story short. Here is a list of what I have...Any of your wonderful gardeners have any ideas on desing/placement? Any and all help is appreciated!!!

(As you will see I have not yet gotten into scientific names. :-) )

2 Yellow Bidens

3 Purple Asters (from last year)

2 6 packs Marigolds (multi-color orange)

4 Red Wave Petunias

3 Purple Wave Petunias

4 Purple Trailing Type Verbena

2 Lilac Colored Trailing Lantana

1 color unknown coreopsis (back from last year)

1 Blue Fescue (it looked cool at the time)

2 White Shasta Daisies

(So Random...I must have been out of my mind!)

THANKS!!!
