I was at Andy's today and didn't see any, except out in their demo plantings in front of the nursery. They don't seem to have nearly the stock they have had the past two years. And their prices are moving from expensive into the land of the absurd. I saw a 5 gallon Red False Yucca there (Hesperaloe) for $59.99!! I have seen 1 gallons at K-Mart for next to nothing. And tiny perennial Hibiscus (4-inch pots) for $11.99.

I have been looking for the giant ones as well... like the ones growing at Andy's. They were 5 feet tall or so and had giant tall centers. I can not find them and they told me their grower was not offering them this year. If anyone knows the variety of them or where to find them, please let me know.

I did find a treat at the Walmart on 31 in Pelham (the one between Valleydale and 119.) I went to purchase sand for a patio we are building. I do not normally get plants there... but when we drove up I saw the large rudebeckia indian summer in mixed pots. They were so lovely. $13.50 for a pot crammed with plants. I had to have two. One has rudebeckia, caladiums, coleus, and petunias. I got another that had rudebeckia, zinnias and some other things. They also had pots of just the Indian Summer Rudbeckia for $4.50 or so. The blooms were very large and beautiful.
