Some citrus tolerate cold temps, and can be somewhat dwarf. Calamondin is the easiest to me down here. They are very sour inside with a sweet skin like kumquats. Sweet kumquat are easy and delicious all the way through. Meiwa is a name of a sweet kumquat. Figs can be kept small through pruning. Loquat trees can be kept small. Some people don't like them. Berries are great.
