Sharon, start planning how you will do your new gardens so you can put on your want list. I'm sure I can find you more goodies.

I'm so new at this, that I'm not real particular, as long as a flower is pretty and not aggressive (don't want to spend the next ten years trying to get rid of it after it has pushed everything else out). The beds that I am going to have to do get about 6 hours of daylight, so any perennial flower that is pretty would tickle me.
If you know anyone who has any perennial Lantana (the shrub kind)- I have 3 areas where my lantana didn't make it. Also need 3 azaleas, 1 hydrangea, a rhododendron, and a couple of oakleaf hydrangeas. Hoping to find most or some of it at the end of season sales this year. Had also planted a flowering cherry tree last spring that got broken in half, Charlie pruned it back and painted it, but it looks dead as a doornail this spring, so it looks like we are going to have to find a replacement for it.
If I didn't love and need my shade, I'd almost be tempted to cut down all the trees in my yard, but the neighbors have huge old trees also, and if some of those fell, they'd catch our house. So I guess our only option is to go forward, do alot of praying and leave it all in God's hands.
Charlie went and got the materials to build an arbot over the walkway entrance to our patio off the deck. So I should have a place to plant the extra clematis that you gave me at the Swap - I think it will be beautiful. Charlie has been so sweet about working in the yard this year, he knows how much I love it and miss it! Last summer it was really starting to take shape and be beautiful. But then I think about what other people lost from Katrina, and replacing roofs, a computer, camera,etc., and having to redo my yard is nothing!!!

Do you have freecycle in your area or in a town close by? To help with the expense of replacing everything, people give away items on the site. I saw a post for some outside wood paneling and got 8 sheets 4x8 and some scraps. You'd be surprised what people give away.
For gardening, Lowe's sells torn bags of soil for half price and some bags have very little gone. The BX does this also!!!
