I found it. The neme is Firecracker Plant, Coral Plant, Coralblow, Fountain Plant,Russelia equisetiformis. Does anyone have this growing outside in our zone 7? How does it do being left in the ground over winter for you?

Dear Jill,
when I lived in Florida I had this plant growing in my garden..
UP here I also have it but treat it as a tropical plant..I bring it inside when it gets colder..I doubt it would survive the freezing temps we have sometimes..

I love this plant, and I have it, but in my zone (central AL) I have to bring it in in winter. It tolerates being very cool, but I try to bring it in when it is going to be colder that 36C. Otherwise, it is happy on my porch. Keep watering it regularly, but rarely and skimpily fertilize it.

It has done very well for me, and I love it!
