Yep. Those discount racks are great -- gotta' sift through all the sad little annuals but then you can find some good perennials that are well worth the money. Just got several different roses at 75% off plus some quart and gallon sized 'Blue Hill' Salvia, Gaura, and 'Fairytale' Veronica for $0.25 each. Couple weeks ago got a bunch of 'Wild Horses' 1 gallon daylilies for $1 apiece and each gallon had at least 4 fans each. I love it when Lowe's employees neglect their plants.

Ok,which Lowes were you at.We check every few days and so far not too much to choose from,a few annuals.We go to the Home Depot and Lowes in Trussville.I will still check every few days.Have gotten some great deals,but not too many this year.Paulette

I go to the Oxford/Anniston Lowe's.

On a side note, they just opened a Home Depot there as well which I was kind of looking forward to hoping they'd provide some competition for Lowe's. After being in the store about 5 minues I had pretty much lost my enthusiasm. Store looked great since it's new but literally about half their stock was mislabled. They had three aisle-long displays for "$4.47 1 gallon perennials". Yet if you looked at each plant individually each pot had a label that said "Annual" on it. This was EVERY single one. Your basic annual verbenas, etc... Then I noticed some beautiful variegated hydrangeas. Looked at the tags and ALL of them were labeled Rhododendron. I just laughed and walked out. I'll still visit them from time to time to see if they discount any of their neglected babies once the employees have had some time to kill a few lol.
