Also, how well do these go in pots? I am still working on making a new bed, and it will probably be spring before I am ready to put them in the ground.

Plant the bulb in a hole deep enough so that the bulb's neck is about 2" below soil level. Take a ruler along ;-)

Potted bulbs will probably need to be heavily mulched.
