I was just gifted with some Buddahs Hand bulbs- which I think are Alocasia cucullata. Right now the bulbs are approximately the size of a daffodil bulb, with only an inch or so of pencil-thin green emerging from the top. What is the best way to handle them? Will they over-winter outside in pots (I am between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa)? I have read that they like to be wet- is that variable like the cannas, or are they strictly a bog/pond plant? How much sun do they really like- or shade?
