Definitely tooo hot! I do only what I have to do outside. Mainly pick veggies. Weeds are having a heyday. Have a good evening.

It's hot and dry, which keeps me in the yard from the time I get home in the afternoon until dark doing - what else (?) - WATERING!

Hey Ya'll!!! See, I knew I'd find some of you still hanging around out there. LOL Yep, it's hot, humid, and a terrible time for gardening in central Al. too. Thanks rjbman, for the "longest yardsale" link. That would be so much fun. Wish I had someone to go and do that with. I'll bet it would be a blast!
Ya'll keep posting here once in a while, just so I'll know you haven't all succomb to the heat!! LOL

Yipee! Rain! I don't have t spend 3 hours dragging heavy hoses!

We have had nothing but thunder and clouds at our house - no rain. So what have we been doing? Watering, watering, watering. And picking and freezing tomatoes, keeping things dead-headed, etc. And planning where to put new stuff this fall. You know, those fun things we like to do in the garden. Glad to see everyone else is still out there despite the heat & humidity.

We had most of our fescue die from some kind of fungus. It's depressing going outside now. The yard looks like someone took a blow torch to it.
I haven't been on the garden web in months as I can't even bring myself to think about the yard. Waiting inpatiently for mid September to resow. To top it all off, dh( a non gardener) thinks it's somehow my fault and doesn't trust my gardening know how anymore.

Watering??
It's dried up a little bit but this is the wetest summer I've ever seen. Rained almost every afternoon in June and July.
Have to do all my gardening in AM. It gets too d--- hot by noon anyway.

Well, we're still having lots of "afternoon" pop up showers downd here, but I still have to water all my hanging baskets and pots because of the high temps and heat index. The heat index today is supposed to top out around 115.
