2" of nice gentle rain since yesterday afternoon here in Madison. I'm thankful it's been so gentle and easy here so it has a chance to soak in deep. No major runoff happening yet, but I think the ground is about saturated now and that'll start happening today. At the rate it's coming down and looking at the sea of green on the radar map, at least another 2" today, I think.

I'm in Huntsville and have been enjoying that same gentle but steady rainfall. I sure wish we could send some towards Texas and other bone dry areas.

We've not been but a month or so without rainfall, unlike you, Purple. I just dragged some hose around earlier this week for the first time.

We live in a rain shadow between ridges of foothills around Gadsden, so our yard's been bone dry for weeks. We've really enjoy this couple of days of rain, not too heavy to soak in but heavy enough to do some good. The cool spell due this week will be nice, too!! Maybe I'll be able to get some things ready for the swap.

At the end the gentle rain turned into a real gullywasher which flooded our back yard. No complaints, though. We need it. Just wish we could have redirected some of it to TX.
