I'm starting my first vegetable garden and it basically ready. I planted some lettuce seeds last weekend, but the rest of my garden area is empty.

I'm searching for what I can grow in the winter in Huntsville. Am I too late for broccoli? What else can I grow in the winter? Not particularly in to things like turnip or mustard greens -- grew up a city boy. I may be interested in growing such things to give away though. I hate to see the prepared soil go unused. It just looks so barren -- like it wants to produce something.
