I've never seen anything like it. Of course this is my first year in alabama....How long do they hang around. they do seem to be fewer of them this week. Oh, but how I hat them. they are sooooo disgusting.

By the way. I have some cannas(Jacob Cline) hummers love them and ginger lilies to share if you would like to have some.

It seems like we saw an awful lot of love bugs after Hurricane Ivan. Don't know if there's a connection.

Love bugs I can handle for the short time they are with us. I only hope we don't have all those huge Garden/goldlen/banana or what ever they were, spiders like we had two years ago. One or two of them we could put up with, but we had dozens of them. And the webs were like running into nylon thread.

What do you use to get them off your grill and windshield?
Soapy water don't do much good.

A couple of ways. I will wet a towel and lay it across the area where it will stay. Let this soak the dead bugs. This is kind of hard to do with my jeep but it does work some. On the lower part of the grill I use a soft plastic scrubber. Just rub until the dead bugs are gone.

Best thing to do if you have time is to wash your car everytime you drive it.

Good news for now is that the lovebugs seem to have left for the season.
