IF you are headed to Foley then you will probably be getting off the interstate at exit 34, Gulf Shores Parkway Exit ( Bay Minette ) . I am not sure about the tropicals you mention but there are several nurseries along Hwy. 59 that specialize in Palm Trees and other tropicals. Davis Nursery and Magnolia Nursery are two out of a half a dozen or so that are located on the main road leading to Foley and Gulf Shores from I-65. Selection and prices are great for Palms compared to what you find at the DIY stores. Certain areas along Hwy 59 are very conjested so you just have to keep a constant look out for the nurseries as you drive down hwy 59. There is a Mom & Pop nursery on the left after you pass through the Town of Bay Minette which is the first nursery you pass that looks good but has been closed everytime I have been down there. We have loaded up our four door car on three trips this year.

Check the newspaper also. We went plant hunting not far from Foley about a year ago. A lady had a tiny ad in he paper about her plants for sale. She also had a sign in her
front yard and the prices were fine. You had to know what you were looking for. She had some excellent gingers....the pine cone and hidden gingers were my favorites.
