Last week, I went on a ramp hunt in southern West Virginia and after a few hours of roaming around the woods, I came across a beautiful patch of these elusive wild alliums.

The demand for ramps is surprising to say the least but it could become alarming unless more people begin cultivating these highly fragrant plants.

Allium tricoccum- this plant was discovered growing wild in the mountains of southern West Virginia in small fairly dense clusters on the forest floor.
