Thank you. Any idea on when I can expect sprouts? We're forecast to have mostly sunny days with highs to the low 50s most of the next ten days. Real weird for this time of the year, which should be great for me. But if these old sets aren't going to be good enough, I need to know when to give up and replace them with fresh 2006 sets.

The first thing some onions like to do is make roots. The better the root ratio, the better the onion grows. It may be a month before you see activity, Some seem to hit dirt and start sprouting. I would expect activity in about a week and a half, but not be disapointed if it took a month. After a rain they seem to grow an inch in a day for me.
