Finally started !!!

Hi Everyone,

IÂve been meaning to try WS for several years and just never got around to it until now. I saved several 4 gallon water bottles from our dispenser. I had my boyfriend drill holes in the bottom and cut a flap door in each. Put about 3 inches of potting mix and vermiculite in the bottom. Poured water in to get it nice and wet and let them sit overnight to drain the excess water off.

This afternoon I planted 2 different types of seeds in each one.

1) Gladiolus Mix ** and Coral Bells

2) Astilbe ** and Blue Fescue Grass

3) Red Dinner plate Hibiscus ** and Crazy Daisy

4) LambÂs Ears and Shasta Daisy

(** = seeds from someone here on this forum a few years ago)

IÂm going to post to the container count thread for my zone 5. Would these be counted as 1 container or 2?

I have the containers out on my deck. My brother saw them this morning and asked me what was up with that. You know, dirt in a water bottle LOL I told him that I was going to plant seeds in them and he nodded and said "Oh yeah, like a little greenhouse, good idea". It was nice to receive that reaction :)

IÂve been reading here on and off for the longest time and really enjoy everyoneÂs sharing and excitement.

Thanks,

PW
