elephant garlic leaves cracking

newbie with a purple thumb, here.

Planted this elephant garlic last fall. They grew (slowly) all winter. Then started growing amazingly when it began to warm up. Now, some of the leaves are cracking, sorta bending in half.

Is this a problem?
