Possibly wild onion, Allium canadense. If the plants don't have an onion or garlic smell, could be Star-of-Bethlehem, Ornithogalum umbellatum.

they definitely have an onion smell. If you even bump them the whole air is filled with onions :)

I think they are multiplying onions. Dig one, and strip off a few outer leaves to reveal a long white shank. These are eaten like leeks this time of year. If you leave a clump unmolested, I bet it will make crazy topsets in early summer.

They could also be a bunching onion that's well adapted like some from the old breeding program at Beltsville, MD, but those tend to form tighter bunches.

Where I grew up most every one in the neighborhood had a patch of onions like them,they were a top set that reseeded it's self every year.Every one called them winter onions. YOPPER
