My garlic is sprouting in Zone 4b SW Minnesota!

Ground is still frozen at soil depth of 3-4 inches variable in this garden. The snow has been completely off this garden for only three days at time of photo:

This is a different bed that is still half-covered with snow. The ground is still frozen at soil depth of 1-2 inches variable in the exposed area of this garden. The garlic is already sprouting in the area of the bed where the snow has melted:

Note the snow covering half of the garlic bed yet. Lower right one can see the circle of mulch I removed to take the above photo:

Time for me to pull back the mulch! I have been waiting for this day since the last week in October. NOW I can finally say that spring is here!
