I started some onions from seed indoors and transplanted them into my garden. I transplanted some of them individually, and I transplanted some as a cluster of 3 or 4 onions (with a much wider spacing, obviously) because I read that it would work with onions. (I can't remember the name of that style of planting).

Does anyone have experience or a preference for the clustered plantings?

This year is just an experiment for me, as far as onions go... any advice is appreciated.
