germination question

Ws'd lilirope in January, thought I may see some activity by now, but nothing.

Also had a trade of alot of different knids of mums, Ws'd those also in January, so far only sprouts are on the feverfew containers.

I Ws'd campanula carpitica and mother of Thyme 2 months ago, and no activity in those containers either.

Granted we literally wnet from 27 to 72 in a weeks' time, but I thought fer sure everything would sprout.

Some things just take a little longer and make you patiently wait. There's no rhyme or reason to it, that's just the way it is.

As an example, I winter sowed several Buddleias. First, some are up earlier than previous years by quite a few weeks - Black Knight, Purple Prince, Pink Delight. Others are making me wait - Attraction and Royal Red.

Last year I waited forever for Asclepias. There was no germination until June. This year one of my containers is sprouting like crazy! It started April 22nd. Many others are still not showing signs of life.

No rhyme or reason - it just is. :O)

Agree, this season has been wierd, and starting new types of seed makes for intresting want-n-wait
