I don't have specific experience with that soil, but I will tell you that I planted about 30 containers in Miracle Gro garden soil that I later saw was labeled "not for use in containers." I was about ready to dump them, but was encouraged to see what happens. I didn't notice any problems attributable to this soil. I had over 95% germination.

Not to worry. All I use for ws is Miracle Grow moisture control potting soil. This is because my jugs are under a 15-foot high porch where they get little rain if any, and with the moisture control soil, I don't have to water as much. The soil still seems to drain pretty well, but I wouldn't put the jugs in a low, wet spot.

With the weather warming, you may find moisture control soil to be a very good thing - even if your jugs do get rained on.
