Misshapen Allium caeruleum

I had a nice patch of Allium caeruleum that bloomed well this year but many of the flower heads were misshapen. A lot of them had little bulbils that formed amongst the florets and pushed them aside causing ugly shapes. A few even had secondary flowering sprouts coming out of the flower head, like maybe a bulbil sprouted. Is here anything I can do culturally to get a more uniform round shape out of these?
