Too much rain...

I've been debating on whether to dig my garlic early or wait till they grow bigger to dig up. The northeast has been been getting heavy rain every week all year. I also have clay soil.
I decided to wait another week to let them plump up.
I'll know if I made a mistake next week.
Any body having the same issues?

Yep. Same here.

I pulled all the shallots even though they were still pretty green (a few were starting to split and decay) - I couldn't bear to lose the whole crop. I think they'll be fine, but will take a while to dry down.

Dug up Music Sunday before it started to rain again. They looked ready, and do look big and healthy. Trying to decide when to dig the other garlic - another 1 to 3 inches of rain forecasted for tonight, then some clearing.

I think my onions can handle the moisture. They are still growing and very green. Probably not ready to pull for another month or so.
