We have a beautiful bed of 100 soft-neck garlic plants. They appear to be coming into harvest (the bottom leaf is dying, so we think maybe two more weeks), but unfortunately we will be away until August 20.

Has anyone had experience leaving garlic in the ground for several weeks past harvest date? Does it affect its quality or, more importantly, its the ability for it to store?
