Never can figure out why anyone wants to join the rest of us stinkers but with a harvest like you got, you are already smelling as bad as the rest!

Indeed, that is an impressive array of plants. I assume that most bundles are separate varieties? It would be interesting to know what varieties are involved there. Size doesn't look impressive for some but considering the follies of Mother Nature and her dispensing of water, it's not bad. I'll be hard-pressed to come close to equaling it.

Thanks for the welcome. Stinkers need to stick together because the non-converted, non-stinkers just don't understand my enthusiasm for garlic.

Yes, the bundles are pretty much separated by variety although a few of the bundles are separated out to be seed. That was one of my most important learning experiences of last year, where after roasting several really nice heads of garlic I realized I'd just eaten the best seed of the variety. Doh!

The varieties harvested are: Italian Purple and German Porcelain, planted from seeds saved from the previous year's crop (the ones I didn't eat right away); and Polish Hardneck, Metechi, and Tuscan from seed purchased on the internet. This fall I plan to grow all of the above plus Music, Spanish Roja, Wedam, and Oregon Blue.

My problem is that every description sounds so good that I want to try them all. I expect that eventually I'll reduce the number of varieties to a few favorites and to a mixture of varieties that will (I hope) sustain our garlic consumption for a full year. We'll see. It's worth a try.

My problem is no large garden space.I can hardly move in the garden now without crushing soil down on something.I hope to try other garlic varieties anyway.

A late welcome to you AlliYum,I should have told you so this morning.nice pics of garlic,I peeked at the pic this morning and your page,made me want to tear up more grass for garlics but no can do.Looks like you have much room for more and onions,ouch,I'm lucky I can get in 2 rows and have others stuck here and there.
