Well, I'll be...

...darned! First time WSing tomatoes and I'm seeing a little green trying to push up through the soil!!! Grightmire's Pride! I think this will be my best WSing year ever! My Dwarf Hollyhocks sprouted last week, and now Bachelor's Buttons and Melampodium too!

I've always struggled with milk jugs in the past, so this time I used styrofoam cups...larger ones I saved from "cup-o-noodles" for the toms and the 8oz size for the flowers. I cut pieces clear shopping bags to cover and used rubber bands to keep it on. I punched about ten holes in the tops to vent. I also used a couple of plastic "lunchmeat" containers to try and that's what the Melampodium is in.

We're going to get out first heavy rain tonight and I hope I have everything far enough under the eaves to keep them from getting pummeled.

I've never had enough success to do the happy dance before but I'm doing it now!!!
