It's way too early to judge your germination rates. Mine are definately running behind last year, but April was almost 10 degrees colder, on average, than the last two years.

Donn's right, way to early in your zone to calculte germination rates. Temps have been up and down, lots of rain, sleet and snow late in the season.

I checked my germination rates for the past 3 years before posting and found the following info to compare on my year 4.

Germination is at least 1 week behind overall.

Specific seeds are anywhere from 1-3 weeks later than the past 3 years.

Some seeds went out a little later this year than in past years and they have germinated a little more quickly this year.

silver_leaf, when did you ws your seeds? I delayed wsing for most of Feb due to our intensely cold weather. The only things outside where perennial seeds needing cold strat. Most of those haven't germinated yet. I'm getting great germination rates on everything that was wsed after the end of Feb. Take a "wait and see" approach on your unsprouted seeds as the intense cold may have put them into a deeper dormancy.

Germination is later for me too, but things are going fine. My asclepias just germinated yesterday.

Yep, germination is sure late for this year. I didn't take records last year because I was renovating the inground pool and those records show I was buying paint and supplies on April 24th for the pool. This year I have only peeked under the cover so far.
