Not a great idea.

For starters, you'll be planting the garlic at 4-6 inch spacing, which doesn't leave much room for anything else. Plus, when you transplant the tomatoes you'd sure as shooting disturb the garlic.

A better approach is to go with succession planting. That is, follow the garlic with something. I typically use bush beans for this, as they are fast growing. By the time they are done, in the fall, it's time to prep the beds for garlic again.

If you don't plant your fall alliums in the same spot, you could follow them with any of the fall-maturing veggies: cole crops, for instance, or greens.
