Has anyone ever tried haylage as a mulch for garlic? I have used grass mulch with a good deal of success but the problem is always to get enough of it. I think I can buy a large quantity of spoiled haylage which seems like it might be the ideal solution. I have two questions. Is there anything about fermented hay that would be bad for garlic? Are there typically any viable weed seeds in haylage? Any other thoughts or concerns? Thank you.
