Does anyone know of a link or publication that outlines how the home gardener may breed onions? I've done it myself, but would like to review a well researched document to see what I did wrong, how to improve it and how to work with subsequent generations.

Specifically I want to work with potato and topset onions crossed with commercial onions to improve on size and reduce pungency in the multipliers.
