I have a very successful herb garden, but this fall I'm branching out to alliums. I have 15 varieties of garlic coming and I'm pretty set on how to plant it. I've gotten a lot of useful info reading here.

Now, I am confused on shallots, though. Should I used seeds or bulbs? I can get shallots at the local food co-op, but they have only two cloves each. It doesn't seem all the efficient. I've seen seeds a Johnny's, but not bulbs.

What should I get? If I get seeds, do I plant them in the fall.
