Sixty Percent

That's what's germinated so far (roughly) - 64 out of 104 containers. How about you?

I don't have a sprouted container count but I have a perennial type count--over half the new perennial varieties I WS have sprouted so far. I WS multiple containers of each type. Not all containers of the same perennials have sprouted--I count it sprouted when I see the first sprout in the first container.
    Sprouted so far:
    1. Achillea
    2. Adenophora (ladybells)
    3. Agastache
    4. Astilbe
    5. Buddleia
    6. Peony poppy
    7. Cupid's dart
    8. Turtlehead
    9. Coreopsis

    1. Daylily 'Happy Returns'
    2. Delphinium
    3. Dianthus (pinks + Sweet William)
    4. Echinacea
    5. Feverfew
    6. Foxglove
    7. Geum 'Blazing Sunset'
    8. Geum 'Mrs. Bradshaw'
    9. Hollyhock
    10. Candytuft
    11. Lupine
    12. Mallow
    13. Maltese cross
    14. Montauk daisy
    15. Penstemon
    16. Rudbeckia 'Autumn Colors'
    17. Rudbeckia 'Irish Eyes'
    18. Soapwort
    19. Shasta daisy
    20. Stokesia
    21. Trollius (Chinese globeflower)
Columbine, sage, tall phlox & a few of the other usual holdouts show no sign of life at all but with the abnormally warm temps in this week's forecast I'm guessing there will be a big boom in sprout activity by next weekend.

Surprisingly (to me!), I have over 90% (94 out of 101 containers) with germination. Three that haven't germinated I just sowed on the 29th, so I shouldn't really even count those. One big laggard for me is Columbine. I have a bunch of containers of various types and not a whole lot of germination yet.

This is my first year WS, so I'm sold!

Hey there girl! Nice to hear from you!! Looks like you haven't lost your wsing touch.

We are getting record high temperatures here and today I had to open all my containers. On the 4rth of April!!! WOW!
Things are popping up like crazy - foxgloves, poppies, red lupines, petunias, browalia, etc. Oh, and snaps too. LOL! No where near 60% but way over other years for the same time so I'm very happy. I know I'm going to be swimming in sprouts soon. :O)

Got a nice surprise today when I cleaned out a couple of Clematis. Some branches had been on the ground for a couple of years and they rooted so now I have 7 more Haygley Hybrids and Claire De Lunes. Too sweet!

About the same for me! Still a few holdouts. But I had just about given up on white beautyberry when I saw them poking up last week, so I'll keep holding out hope for the rest :)

I'm at about 60%. Right now it is snowing with huge wind gusts so I will know more precisely on Wednesday when the weather decides to cooperate!

Mine is much lower. I've had problems in the past with organic potting soil. This year I had problems again. They must be adding corn gluten meal to the soil to prevent weed seed germination because I'm getting almost no germination and when I get it, it is incredibly stunted.
The new bags of soil I have are working better. However it's from a brand that I have also previously had trouble with. That year I went as far as calling the company and telling them that just pouring boiling water over the product would kill weed seeds instead of killing sales from those of us who use the soil for both potting and growing.
Why on earth is pro mix almost impossible to find here this year? I am very sure I'd have much better germination in pro mix. Most of the perennials did not germinate yet, and they should have. Almost all are natives and hard to find seeds - even harder to find as plants!!!

    Hi, Drippy!

I didn't ws as much as I wanted, but mine is about the same---maybe a little more. But I have to admit, I've babied them, which I don't usually do. Only because I'm in a new house and basically starting over.

And the weather has been unusually warm, so.....

Some other post I said I had 80%, but I think it's actually between 60-70%.

This is phenomenal in zone 5! We've had some very warm stretches of weather here in New England in March and now April (in between deluges and flooding!).

So far, I'm at 82 out of 109 containers. Of the 27 that haven't sprouted yet, 6 or 8 of those were just sown. So I expect those to come up soon. So I count myself at about an 80% germination rate so far. Amazing!

I still have my tender annuals to plant - that's maybe another 50 or so containers if I decide not to direct sow some of them.

I would say I have 50%. Nothing with astilbes, daylilies, hosta, cardinal flower, and other shady/part shade perennials. The calendulas, poppies, and foxglove in particular are going nuts! Just sowed about 20 annual jugs yesterday and have about 20 to go.
