garlic and powdery mildew?

Hi there - The bed where I planted garlic last year was later overrun by my pumpkin vine. The pumpkin was afflicted with powdery mildew late in its life, but as the fruits were already set and growing nicely, I didn't treat it. Now I'm wondering if that will be a mistake for my garlic bed. Is it OK to plant garlic where powdery mildew was present?

Sulfur is the natural enemy of powdery mildew. Garlic contains sulfur, and lots of it. In fact, a common home remedy for powdery mildew is to crush a few cloves of garlic in a gallon of water to make a spray for the affected plants.

I don't believe your garlic will be bothered by powdery mildew.
