That's A LOT of garlic! Sounds wonderful!

Do you have specific uses for each kind of garlic, or do you just mix it up for variety?

no specific use here. we mostly just mix it up. we eat a lot of garlic raw, chopped up, and added to dishes. the varieties with a little more heat might be used more for cooking. usually we just use up the garlic with the shortest shelf life first, and save the longest keepers for last. so far, idaho silver has kept the longest (over a year). i'm think nootka rose might be a good keeper too. it has a similar bulb, and wrapper to idaho silver. its also a bigger bulb, so thats a plus.

I just planted mine a week ago today. First time garlic grower, I ordered an assortment and ended up with 11 different varieties! A few are already coming up. Very exciting.
Keith in calumet, how often do I water the garlic in the fall? And winter, if any? Thanks.

i'm not the best person to ask for advice for growing garlic in arizona. your climate is way different from mine. i don't water them because at this time of year, we get a bunch of rain, and then after that they'll be covered by 5 ft of snow for most of the winter so no need to water then either. maybe someone closer to home can give you some advice. it is nice seeing those green tips popping up, eh.
