The Page did already get sooo long, so I decided to show the #15 to #18 of H.cybister "Chico" x H.papilio
here.

#18 produced 4 much prettier flowers from their 2nd scape, and as is clearly visible, extraordinary Diameter (17 cm)

I think the mating of chico with papilio (either way) is one of the best cross anyone can make, after looking at all your gorgeous results..endless.. one beauty right after another, even though I know you have your favorites.

I have 5 remaining seedlings given to me of papilio x Chico and they are quite large. I also have a big fat seedpod sitting atop my papilio scape x Chico and I can't wait to see the seeds. If I end up with no other seeds this season other than the two pods on papilio, then these will keep me happy... Donna

I recommend that Private Breeders, whose Area is limited, consider breeding these - their consumption of space is so little. Their leaves are rather small. Conspicuously small in comparison to their well sized bulbs of 25+ cm in circumference.I LIKE THAT! The result is, huge containers become them well - yet the required area is small. Everybody who grows the common TETraploid Hippeastrums knows, that the leaf FAN will require times and times more area as compared to the area the container requires for itself.
The left side of the following pictures and of the first 2 pictures above show #16 which is the strongest sibling. It produced 2 scapes w/5 florets each, and two Daughter bulbs, one of these prematurely blooming.

The 2 Flowers from the tiny Daughter bulb are, surprisingly, barely smaller (13,5 cm in diameter) than the flowers of the 5-umbel (14 cm)

I love that idea. The sofa pillows have that inky blue in them as well. The entry hall definitely needs some love. Painting the one wall inky blue, adding a floating shelf beneath the mirror and adding a rug with some of the muted blues and a bit of orange-red should do the trick! Then, I can add an accessory or two on the floating shelf as well as a spot or two in the family room. Can't wait to go shopping! Thanks so much for thinking with me.

I don't think that is a useful rule at all. Where it got messy is when people were putting five different natural stone / colors / patterns all over the house. Select quartz, or something natural that is quiet in pattern, like limestone and any neutral color you want and you will be fine. Best rule for countertops i know is to match the tone to the floor . . bet you don't have black floors in the kitchen, eh?

I rather like the abstract painting, but the "cityscape" print doesn't help help the room. Since you already have a big work, consider a cluster of smaller pieces. Also, you may want to move your larger, more impactful or evocative art piece (the big abstract) to the wall where it will be facing you as you enter the room, in other words, the wall across from where it is now. The wall between the doorways should have smaller pieces that one would view closer-up, since it's an area where guests (or family) would be more likely to stand. Since most of the architectural features in the room are vertical (doorways, windows) you should consider hanging the big abstract piece horizontally. Or if you know the artist, ask them what way it was meant to be hung.

I blush to admit it, but I bought a bedroom set some years ago: good quality, solid wood, and I just liked it. We moved, and now the set has been somewhat, disaggregated, for want of a better description - the headboard, bed frame and 2 night tables are in the bedroom, the tallboy is in the guest bedroom, the dresser is in the TV room and the mirror is in the man-cave. Get yourself a good bed frame, headboard and mattress and go from there. If you like the night tables, fine, one less decision; if you like the dresser, also fine, one less decision. If you don't, then find what you do like. But, and I stress this, you need to make sure the bed works for you first of all because if it doesn't, all the decor in the world won't make that right. Then go from there. The main reason to buy a set is convenience, nothing else. I bought a set that was very well built, so, although it no longer works for me as a set, it still works in the house. But that's a bit of luck. Buy what works for you, in your world - if it's a set, fine; if it isn't, as HF says, you can get some interesting pieces out there that might work better. Don't be handcuffed by what anyone says.

Thanks for the "prize" for finding the small scape! The photos are gorgeous. I agree with Donna, "Chico" x H. papilio is one of the best crosses out there! The colors and form is a great combination! -Tina
