If your seedpod is on an established bulb with roots and some leaves then I continue to fertilize sparingly but I don't even know if that is necessary. Some people say when a bulb is in bloom not to fertilize but I do if there are plenty of roots. However if your bulb has no roots or leaves than don't fertilize. During the winter I use a very weak solution; only in the summer due I really fertilize quite heavily.

I don't change anything about a bulb's routine while there is a seed pod on it. If you have been fertilizing, as Donna suggests, I'd continue doing so. If you haven't been fertilizing it, I wouldn't start at that critical time as it could result in the bulb shifting gears towards growing leaves.

Again, don't change up your routine at the expense of the pod.
